HYDERABAD: Punjagutta police on Friday requested custody of suspended DSP Praneeth Rao, who has been remanded to judicial custody, for questioning, despite the fact that the remand copy stated that he freely confessed to the accusations against him.
The suspended SIB DSP is facing allegations including criminal breach of trust and causing the removal of evidence, among others.

Praneeth Rao allegedly used two rooms with unique internet access and 17 computer systems to discreetly watch his seniors. Additional SP D Ramesh filed the case with Punjagutta police on March 10. Praneeth Rao was arrested at his home in Sircilla on March 12 and taken to the police station the next day.
Police took his statement and seized three mobile phones and a laptop.
It is claimed that the accused officer wiretapped hundreds of phones, including those of police officers and political officials, and enlisted his family in these criminal activities. However, police officials have kept quiet about the entire issue.
